ASK Academy is proudly providing Curriculum Support to English Language Learners and Academically Challenged students in The Silicon Valley/San Francisco Bay Area. It feels good pulling out small groups of students from classrooms and working intensively with them. We provide tutoring and goal setting while modeling and reinforcing the "Value of Education". The program started in Spring 2013, organically growing stronger by the end of the School Year. Right now we are working with students from 3rd grade to 8th grade for 45 minute periods. This coming school year we are looking forward to expanding to 9th through 12th grades. All schools welcome extra help with their struggling students whether it be academic, social, or emotional help. This assistance is possible through the E.I.A. (Economic Impact Aid) funds from the State of California.
Systemic bullying includes: Miseducation and unequal access to support and advanced services i.e. gifted and talented programs, special education, mental health services, up to date technology, etc.
Should we wait until people are in trouble before we offer them alternatives and opportunities such as wilderness education, building trades and other vocational training?
