Showing up at my son's school is fun. I am able to see him in his school environment acting naturally so I can see how he really behaves when I am not around. I walked into his school and they were having an assembly honoring Rosa Parks, the school's namesake. Standing in the hallway glancing inside the boys bathroom and who do I see? My son washing his hands silently looking happy and healthy. He was surprised, shy, and happy to see me when he came out. I can remember when I worked in San Francisco schools, most of the time children being afraid and embarrassed when their father showed up. Usually it meant that they were called because of their child's inappropriate behavior...

Rosa Parks is a good example of choosing Assertiveness over Passiveness and Inspiring more people to make positive changes in our society.
